Objectives

Barnardo’s is the UK’s largest children’s charity. Our purpose is to transform the lives of the UK’s most vulnerable children.

Our current priority areas include combating child sexual exploitation, supporting care leavers and those children affected by parental imprisonment. Last year we improved the lives of over 200,000 children, young people and their families.

£10million, (32%) of our voluntary funds was generated through our charity shops in 2013/14. This goes towards our work with the most vulnerable. Our retail volunteers provide assurance over financial and non-financial controls in Barnardo’s shops. This ensures high risk areas such as fraud are being effectively managed.
