The Law Centre provides free legal advice and representation, legal education and training, capacity building for other advice agencies, and advocates for changes to public policy that promote equality and justice.
The Law Centre typically helps over 2,000 disadvantaged citizens every year to get access to justice - many of whom would not be able to protect their rights otherwise. This equates to well over £1million each year in direct financial gains and, more importantly, far more significant values realised in savings to the public purse (for example, preventing homelessness, maintaining employment, reducing crime) and in benefits-in-kind to individuals (better physical and mental wellbeing, increased social inclusion, increased contribution to community life).
