Our activities

We give free information and advice:

Our trained advisors offer free information and advice to older people and their families.

Last year our advisers helped local older people to claim over £1.3m in previously unclaimed benefits supporting people to live more comfortably at home. We also distributed £84,725 to 416 people via household support funds and provided guidance across the customer base on scams awareness.

Age UK Lincolnshire also provides a much needed service to support people living with, and supporting those living with dementia, or mild cognitive impairment.

We offer home help. Your home, your support, your way:

We offer home support services to help with shopping, cleaning, laundry and gardening. We help older people to get their food shopping every month and also provide Deep Clean and House Clearance services. Age UK Lincolnshire help over 1000 customers stay safe with lifelines and home adaptations. These customers are supported by our Response Team who go out if anyone has fallen and our Care Team provide person-centred care

We work with partners to support the wider health and social care system:

Through our HART contract our Response Team provide support to prevent hospital admission or enable a timely discharge through concentrated packages of care and support. In 2024 - 2025, our service prevented an impressive 1,022 hospital admissions and saved 10,055 hospital bed days.

Our Community Connectors contract provides information and support to patients leaving hospital ensuring that they have things in place to make their discharge a success.

We work to reduce loneliness:

Our volunteer befrienders visit lonely older people in the community who have no one to talk to.

Our befriending service happens via home visits and telephone befriending and last year we matched 131 volunteers with befriending clients which was instrumental in helping lonely older people in our community beat the loneliness they face. We have been awarded targeted grants to deliver digital inclusion activities and support for veterans.

We provide activities, events, lunch clubs and friendships clubs:

Our day centre is a hub of activity offering a wide range of activity groups and events, such as lunch clubs and exercise classes, giving older people the opportunity to keep fit, socialise, or learn a new skill. Our amazing Activities team provide activities across the Lincolnshire area from snooker buddies to line dancing.

The opportunity to enjoy a home cooked meal and socialise in our Park Street Restaurant is enjoyed by many who attend our clubs and activities, as well as anyone passing who fancies good food with great company.
