Objectives

Age Concern Luton (ACL) is Luton’s largest charity working with older people and has been helping older people and their carers get the services they need, make their voices heard and make a contribution to their communities for nearly 25 years!

We offer a comprehensive range of services to older adults in the Luton area, including befriending, lunch clubs, advice and information and home support.

Our ultimate mission is to offer services to every older adult in Luton who is in need.

Activities

In order to change the lives of older adults in Luton for the better, we offer a range of comprehensive services which help to diminish social isolation and provide social support (e.g. befriending and lunch clubs), provide practical help (e.g. cleaning, shopping, gardening) and provide general assistance (e.g. signposting, benefits advice & information and  advocacy).

We rely heavily on the support from our volunteers, so we go out of our way to ensure they have the best experience possible. We listen to the needs of our volunteers and regularly conduct training and provide support and guidance. We acknowledge how much volunteer contribution helps the quality of life for older adults and host various volunteer-focused events such as the “Volunteer Tea Party” which is hosted once a year as a thank you to Volunteers for their hard and valued work.
