Volunteer Treasurer & Trustee
Working collaboratively with fellow trustees, the Treasurer provides strategic oversight of the charity’s financial affairs, helps ensure appropriate financial governance and controls are in place, and supports sound decision-making across the organisation.
What will you be doing?
The Treasurer is a key member of our Board of Trustees and plays a pivotal role in ensuring the financial health, integrity, and sustainability of the charity.
Working collaboratively with fellow trustees, the Treasurer provides strategic oversight of the charity’s financial affairs, helps ensure appropriate financial governance and controls are in place, and supports sound decision-making across the organisation.
Alongside the wider trustee board, the Treasurer shares collective responsibility for the overall governance, strategic direction, and effectiveness of the charity.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience in finance, accounting, bookkeeping, business management, or financial governance.
- Is able to interpret financial information and communicate it clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, integrity, and strategic thinking.
- Is supportive, collaborative, and committed to the mission of the charity.
- Has an interest in supporting children and young people and improving access to opportunity and wellbeing.
- Previous charity trustee experience is welcomed but not essential.
Professional accountancy qualifications are beneficial but not required.
