We are seeking volunteer counsellors and therapists (Qualified) to provide one to one counselling / therapy to adults affected by cancer or a life-threatening condition as part of the We Hear You team. 

 

 

 

What will you be doing?

You’ll offer a minimum of two weekly  counselling sessions and one weekly telephone assessment.  

Our main counselling venue is in the centre of Frome, Somerset so you will mostly offer F2F sessions from this venue but with the option of doing some online/telephone sessions which can be done remotely. 

What are we looking for?

The skills you will need:

  • A diploma / degree in counselling or psychotherapy.
  • Good understanding of issues arising for people affected by cancer and other life-threatening conditions.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and to deal with situations which could be upsetting or challenging.

We offer a vital service to those impacted by cancer, bereavement from cancer and a life-threatening conditions. Over the years, we have seen significant changes to our client's wellbeing after having support with WHY, and we want to continue this with a dedicated and passionate counselling team.
