Dacorum Heritage is seeking a committed and people-focused Trustee to help shape the future of a charitable museum.

Help create a positive, inclusive environment for staff and volunteers by supporting the people who make the Dacorum Heritage’s work possible.

What will you be doing?

Planning the future now is essential - there are equally as many challenges as opportunities as we move into a period of great change.

You will help ensure volunteers and staff feel valued, heard and well supported, while contributing to the Board’s wider responsibility for good governance, financial oversight and strategic direction.

What are we looking for?

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience of volunteer management, people coordination, HR, recruitment or organisational support;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to listen, support, motivate and coach others;
  • A collaborative leadership style and confidence contributing to Board-level discussion;
  • An understanding of DBS requirements, employment law or charity governance, or a willingness to develop this knowledge;
  • A genuine commitment to volunteering, inclusion and the value of local heritage; and
  • The time and energy to contribute reliably to the role and the wider work of Dacorum Heritage.

What difference will you make?

Help guide the next chapter of a charitable museum dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the stories of Dacorum’s people, places and communities.

This is a rewarding opportunity to use your skills, judgement and enthusiasm to make a lasting difference. As a Trustee, you will work collaboratively with the Museum Manager and fellow Board members to provide strategic leadership, strengthen our sustainability and ensure the Trust continues to deliver public benefit for current and future generations.
