 As a values-led charity, SIL is focused on sustaining high-quality services, driving innovation, and strengthening its future direction. Trustees will support this by helping shape strategy and ensuring the organisation continues delivering meaningful impact.

What will you be doing?

 

Trustees will provide strategic leadership and oversight, working with the Board and senior team to ensure strong governance, financial sustainability, and effective risk management. They will offer constructive challenge, champion SIL’s values, and act as ambassadors, helping to shape long-term direction without being involved in day-to-day operations.

What are we looking for?

 

We are looking for individuals who share SIL’s values and bring independent thinking, sound judgement and a collaborative approach. Experience in areas such as finance, health and social care, digital, governance or organisational development is welcomed, alongside lived experience of disability. Commitment, integrity and a passion for supporting independence are key.

This role will strengthen governance, bring diverse skills and perspectives, and support SIL to navigate a complex and evolving sector. Trustees will help maintain high-quality services, drive innovation, and ensure the voices of disabled and older people remain central, supporting long-term sustainability and organisational resilience.
