Visionary local charity in Gloucestershire which provides rest and respite for those who seek sanctuary welcomes creative and committed Trustees to join its Board.

What will you be doing?

Our small Board of Trustees wishes to welcome creative individuals to develop the exciting potential of our activities. We have the opportunity to gain ownership of the property asset we use for our activities. We're particularly looking for individuals who can contribute skills and experience in the following areas

  1. business, finance and trading
  2. legal, especially in relation to property ownership
  3. property management

What are we looking for?

  1. a commitment to the vision, purpose and values of SB
  2. a willingness to devote the necessary time and effort
  3. integrity
  4. strategic vision
  5. independent judgement
  6. an ability to think creatively
  7. an understanding and acceptance of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship
  8. an ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to take decisions for the good of SB.

What difference will you make?

Our values permeate the approach we have and the work we do. You will join an experienced group of women and men who will embrace your new ideas and insights. Alongside regular Board meetings (alternately held on zoom) there will be plenty of opportunity to take part in all Sanctuary Breaks activities such as day trips and longer visits to Hill House, Amberley, shared meals, and fundraising events.

We are seeking someone to join the board of trustees, or provide expert advice in a non-trustee role,  who has property management experience, to guide us through the process of accepting and managing a significant property asset.

Before you apply

Any interested volunteer will be welcomed to Hill House for a meeting with the Chair of Sanctuary Breaks (this could be virtual in the first instance). Their application will then be considered by the Board.
