We are seeking trustees to support the governance of our charity and enable people to transform and rebuild their lives in order to escape homelessness.

What will you be doing?

We are seeking volunteers with a knowledge of governance, marketing, income generation, property management, HR, strategic development and/or business planning. We are also looking for volunteers with a legal background or experience with GDPR and data management.

We seek applicants drawn from a diverse range of backgrounds, to take The Winchester Beacon forward in times of financial hardship and increasing need for our services.

We are looking for forward thinking and business minded individuals who can support The Winchester Beacon during an exciting time in our development.

We are searching for people who share our passion and commitment, and who have the skills, the knowledge and experience to support excellent governance and oversight of our charity.

We welcome applications from those with lived experience and also direct experience of Board level governance and from candidates with the relevant skills and expertise to undertake the role effectively. We welcome applications from those who have an interest in, and understanding of the trends, issues, and environment regarding homelessness, and who are eligible to act as a charity trustee.

Hopefully the volunteer will enjoy working with a diverse group of people within a friendly environment, and prepared to attend Board meetings as required.

We are looking to recruit more than one trustee so the skills listed are an indication of what is needed. We are looking for an individual with time and who shares our organisational values with a desire to work within a team environment.

What difference will you make?

We have recently undergone a season of change including momentous changes as a result of the pandemic, and our services have altered as a result.   We now accommodate 22 people in four different venues and gone through a rebranding exercise to find a name better suited to the work we do 24/7 all day and night.   Your support  in assisting us to reshape the future of our charity will be very much appreciated and hopefully you will find your input equally rewarding.
