Long Covid Kids is a UK based International Charity. We are seeking a new Trustee to join our dedicated and experienced Board, helping to set strategic objectives and deliver on purpose.

What will you be doing?

As Trustee, you will be required to attend Board and committee meetings (which are all currently remote) and represent the Charity externally. We estimate the time commitment to be equivalent to a day and a half a month, although this may change. The initial appointment is for three years which can be renewed. Maximum tenure is usually six years.

The Board meets monthly at present, although it is envisaged that this may be reduced to quarterly.  There will be a need for ad hoc meetings throughout the year, although we try to keep these to a minimum with remote attendance.

Trustees are expected to commit time to

  • Prepare for, attend and actively contribute to meetings of the Trustee Board.
  • To serve on sub-groups or lead a specific area of work.
  • Attend all mandatory training.
  • Attend briefing sessions, relevant to trusteeship and the work of LCK so they can fully understand and support LCK on the delivery of its purpose.

What are we looking for?

We are interested to hear from anyone who feels that they have something to offer and in particular, with experience in Health and/or Social Care sectors or with experience in working with and supporting vulnerable people including safeguarding experience.

Experience of Not for Profit organisations or previous board membership in charity and/or commercial sectors would be valuable, but we would also consider people interested in gaining experience of trusteeship.

We would welcome applications from all those who feel they have relevant skills and experience.

Long Covid Kids is committed to safeguarding children, young people, vulnerable adults and the elderly.   All postholders are subject to a satisfactory DSB (Disclosure & Barring Service) check where appropriate.

What difference will you make?

Long Covid Kids Board are inclusive, pro-active and collaborative - are you these things too?

We are inclusive - we believe in mutual respect, dignity, fairness, care and equality. We welcome and support all children, young people, their families and caregivers, from every community, without exception.

We are pro-active - we strive to find a solution for every challenge. We will never give up or walk away. We will continue to promote a better understanding of children and young people’s health and wellbeing and seek effective treatments to aid recovery and rehabilitation.

We are collaborative - we are stronger together. We build relationships with parents, families, schools, researchers, clinicians, health organisations, local authorities and governments in the UK and abroad to effect positive change.

This position is vital to our charity with the opportunity to help develop effective systems and processes that will support the charity’s growth and development over the years to come.
