Trustee - Learning Disability Prof.
LinkAble supports children, young people and adults with a learning disability or autistic people to create the life they want to live. We are a local charity in Woking, working across West Surrey and Elmbridge.
What will you be doing?
An LD Trustee will be a member of or Chair the Programmes Committee. We are seeking a new Trustee to support us to deliver high quality, safe and impactful services, drawing on their experience of adult social care, transition services or children's services. Experience of CQC would be ideal. The charity is growing and developing new service models and we want to ensure that we maintain quality and best practice in service delivery. Evaluating and challenging proposals, advising on best practice in co-production, outcomes and impact monitoring, safeguarding, reflective practice and engagement tools. They will also be asked to observe and audit services and suggest improvements. They will also participate in wider discussions affecting the charity such as Governance, Finance, Fundraising and Marketing, Health and Safety. They will attend quarterly Board Meetings and respond to requests for info and approvals in between meetings.
What are we looking for?
Experience of learning disability or autism gained from a professional setting (we already have people with lived experience). This might be an LD Nurse, Health Professional, GP, Speech and Language or OT Therapist, a service provider or commissioner.
What difference will you make?
The role will bring specialist skills to enhance the board of trustees and SLT. They will work with a new Head of Services to enhance and grow our services whilst maintaining safe and highly engaging services.
