Grantham Foodbank (Trussell Trust)
Trustee Lead for Fundraising & Grants
Grantham Foodbank seeks a Trustee to lead on fundraising and grants, helping secure vital income to support our work. You’ll shape fundraising strategy, develop funding bids and strengthen community support for people facing hardship.
What will you be doing?
We need a trustee to lead our fundraising and grant-seeking work: developing our fundraising strategy, identifying income opportunities, preparing or supporting grant applications, building relationships with supporters and partners, and ensuring our fundraising is ethical, compliant, and aligned with the Foodbank’s aims.
What are we looking for?
We’re looking for someone with experience or strong interest in fundraising, grants, or partnership building. You should be a strategic thinker with good communication skills, able to build relationships and lead confidently at Board level. Commitment to our mission, integrity, and willingness to uphold the Nolan Principles are essential.
What difference will you make?
About Grantham Foodbank
Grantham Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust network, working to provide relief of poverty in Grantham and surrounding areas, in particular but not exclusively by providing emergency food supplies to individuals in need and/or to charities or other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.
Our Work
We provide emergency food parcels to individuals and families experiencing hardship, alongside guidance and signposting through strong local partnerships. We work closely with referring agencies to ensure timely and appropriate support and contribute to wider Trussell Trust initiatives that tackle the underlying causes of poverty.
Governance
The Foodbank is guided by a committed Board of Trustees responsible for strategic oversight and governance. Trustees meet approximately 10 times per year, plus an annual strategy day, working collectively to ensure the charity operates safely, legally, and effectively, and continues to meet its charitable objectives.
Impact
Over the past year, Grantham Foodbank has supported over 8,800 people across the local community. We maintain strong partnerships with schools, health services, charities, and other local agencies. Our volunteers are essential to all aspects of the Foodbank’s operations, helping us remain a trusted and vital emergency resource for those facing food insecurity.
Why This Role Matters – Trustee Lead for Fundraising & Grants
Financial sustainability is crucial for Grantham Foodbank to continue supporting people facing hardship. As the Trustee Lead for Fundraising & Grants, you will help secure the income needed to maintain operations, develop resources, and support volunteers. Your leadership ensures fundraising is strategic, ethical, and effective, enabling the Foodbank to continue providing vital, reliable support to individuals and families in our community.
