Trustee for Animal Welfare Charity
Animal Concern is in its 150th year of campaigning for animal welfare and is rebuilding its board of trustees with a vision to support another 150 years. We seek trustees with strategic and creative thinking, fundraising and outreach skills, and a passion for animal advocacy to join our team!
What will you be doing?
Animal Concern began 150 years ago as the Scottish Anti-Vivisection Society, and is setting up for the future of campaigning.
We are at an exciting point of rebuilding our board of trustees, which is currently at two, and engaging new staff and volunteers to help us achieve our objectives in improving legislation for animals in the UK.
Fundraising is an essential part of moving forward, and we seek someone with skills and creativity to establish a strong financial baseline through fundraising and grant opportunities, as well as strategic planning for outreach and events.
As a grassroots charity, our team is small but passionate, and we are keen to grow and work with others to succeed in our campaigns to improve the lives of animals.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking trustees with skills in the following:
- fundraising
- grant applications
- strategic development
- event planning
- good governance
- knowledge in UK politics/Scottish parliament
What difference will you make?
As a trustee on our board, you will have the opportunity to help bring meaningful change to the lives of animals.
By helping to secure funding, you will create the opportunity to further our reach and impact, and to increase the success of our campaigns for animals.
We are looking to start a new strategic plan for the future, and as a trustee, you would be part of creating that vision and putting it into practice.
Before you apply
We encourage anyone interested in joining our board of trustees to spend some time researching our Animal Concern website to see who we are and what we do.
If interested, the board will ask to see a CV and letter of interest and experience, after which an online meeting will be arranged.
Our aim is to recruit two new trustees by April, so please get in touch if you are interested!
The opportunity to apply will remain open until our board is at capacity.
