Trustee
We are seeking a new trustee with experience in marketing, public relations and communications to build on existing work to promote the objectives of our charity and increase membership
What will you be doing?
Our charity is all about supporting Hampshire history through archives. By Archives we mean records reflecting the history, life, economy and activities of Hampshire and its people whatever their media, including photographs, film, tape and machine readable records as well as traditional materials such as paper and parchment
The Board of Trustees consists of a Chairman, Treasurer, Membership Secretary and 7 other trustees, many of whom have specific responsibility for areas such as newsletter, local group liaison, schools outreach, digital and social media. We are now looking to add new trustees with expertise in marketing, public relations and communications
Trustees meet at least 4 times a year online, and there is an AGM in October each year.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a new trustee who understands and shares the Trust's objectives and has an interest in local history. To deliver the role we are advertising you must have good communication skills and some relevant expertise.
We need someone who is hands on and committed and can give their time to this role, and who wants to make a difference
What difference will you make?
As with many local charity organisations we are looking to expand our membership and its age profile. Our grants programme is very successful but not currently achieving the profile it deserves. A new trustee is needed to develop a higher profile both in the media and in liaison with our digital engagement co-ordinator
A higher profile and increased membership would greatly help the important work of this charity in its ability to give grants and support and promote the preservation, use and understanding of Hampshire's archives in all their forms.
