Trustee
Purpose: To provide strategic oversight, governance, and accountability, ensuring the charity operates effectively, sustainably, and in line with its mission, legal obligations, and values.We have a specific interest in those with Legal, Business, or Organisational Leadership backgrounds
What will you be doing?
Key Responsibilities
Governance & Strategic Oversight
● Participate in board meetings, decision-making, and policy approvals.
● Contribute to the development and review of AuDHD UK’s strategic direction, ensuring alignment with its charitable objectives.
● Support effective governance and ensure the charity complies with relevant legislation, regulations, and best practice guidance.
● Monitor organisational performance, risk, and sustainability.
Financial Oversight
● Review financial performance, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure responsible stewardship of funds.
● Support long-term financial planning, sustainability, and risk management.
● Ensure appropriate financial controls and reporting processes are in place.
Risk, Compliance & Legal Accountability
● Ensure the charity meets its legal and regulatory obligations, including those relating to safeguarding, data protection, fundraising, and governance.
● Identify, assess, and monitor strategic and operational risks.
● Promote transparency, accountability, and ethical decision-making.
Advocacy & Representation
● Act as an ambassador for AuDHD UK, promoting its mission and values
within relevant professional and community networks.
● Support opportunities for partnerships, funding, and organisational growth where appropriate.
Essential Skills & Attributes
● Senior-level experience or professional background in business, law, finance or organisational leadership.
● Understanding of trustee duties, charity governance, or willingness to undertake trustee training.
● Strong strategic thinking, sound judgment, and decision-making ability.
● Ability to review information critically and contribute constructively to board discussions.
● Commitment to inclusion, accessibility, and ethical leadership.
● Strong communication and collaborative working skills.
● Commitment to AuDHD UK’s mission and values.
● Lived experience of AuDHD or neurodivergence (desirable).
