Trustee
We welcome enquiries from people with a passion for music who believe in the value of arts and culture. Being a Trustee offers opportunities to network, gain experience, and contribute to the local community. “A friendly team make it a very rewarding experience." Ruth Cadiot (former trustee)
What will you be doing?
We are looking for Trustees with specific expertise to strengthen our existing Board (currently 7). We're a friendly organisation keen to welcome curious people. The role of our Trustees will be to act as curious and critical friends, having input into our overall direction while leaving our staff to manage things day-to-day.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for Trustees with experience in HR, finance or fundraising. We particularly welcome applications from people currently underrepresented on our Board: young adults; people from the Global Majority; people with a disability; people from lower socioeconomic backgrounds; people who are neurodivergent; LGBTQI+ people.
What difference will you make?
By increasing the skills represented within our Board, you will help us to strengthen OCM's finances and staffing, enabling us to realise our ambitious goals in terms of performances, artist development and community music.

Find Out More
If you’d like to find out more before submitting an expression of interest, please message Victoria via the Reach platform to arrange a chat with one of our team.
How to submit an expression of interest
If you would like to submit an expression of interest to become an OCM Trustee, please send a cover letter and CV via the Reach platform.
You can submit a video (up to 5 minutes) instead of writing a cover letter if you would prefer. A written CV is still required alongside the video.
Once you have submitted your expression of interest we’ll be in touch to let you know whether your skills and experience are a good fit for the Board of Trustees. If they are, we’ll invite you for an interview with the Chair of our Board and our Director.
We may take up references after interviews as part of our decision-making process. In this situation, we usually ask
to speak to two referees. You will be offered a financial contribution of £20 for attending the interview to cover any costs you may incur such as time away from your current job, or childcare.
