Treasurer - Trustee - Young Climate Warriors
We are looking for a voluntary Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees to support our straightforward financial accounting activities, including our annual submission of accounts to the Charities Commission.
What will you be doing?
The vision and ethos of Young Climate Warriors is that all children aged 7 - 14yrs, based in the UK, have the opportunity to increase their awareness and understanding of climate change, and feel inspired and empowered to choose to take positive action to help our planet.
We work to achieve this through providing unique support to teachers, educators, and parents to inspire children and young people to engage with climate change. Through fun, creative challenges, and supporting resources, we help children feel empowered to reflect, discuss, and choose their own informed path of action.
Our services consist of four offerings:
- Ambassador-led Climate Change Assemblies
- Climate Change Club in a Box
- Weekly Carbon-Busting Sustainable Living Challenges
- Duke of Edinburgh Award 3-month Climate Change Skills
To date, we have engaged with over 25,000 children in-person through our assemblies, from Aberdeenshire to Cornwall, and over 700 educators receive our weekly ‘schools pack’.
What are we looking for?
Whether you’re an experienced Trustee or wanting to take your first step at Board level, we want to hear from you. Our new Trustee will have experience in finance or accountancy, able to undertake straightforward financial accounting activities, including our annual submission of accounts to the Charities Commission.
We welcome applications from all ages and backgrounds. To better reflect the communities we support, we particularly welcome applications from younger people, ethnic minorities and those outside of south-east England.
What difference will you make?
As a Treasurer you would be enabling Young Climate Warriors to function as a charity - helping children by providing the opportunity and resources to help them learn about and understand climate change, and to feel empowered to reflect, discuss and choose their own informed path of action.
