Treasurer of a mental health charity
Help shape the future of mental health support. Lamp is seeking a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. Use your financial expertise to strengthen governance, support sustainability, and help ensure people mental health advocacy and support.
What will you be doing?
Lamp is a well-respected and influential mental health charity, providing mental health advocacy and support for people with mental health conditions and their carers. We are looking for a Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees at a pivotal time for the charity. As demand for mental health services continues to grow and the funding landscape evolves, you'll play a key role in helping us build financial resilience, strengthen governance, and support our long-term sustainability.
Working alongside a dedicated Board and leadership team, you'll provide strategic financial oversight, help guide important decisions, and contribute to developing new income opportunities that enable Lamp to continue delivering vital independent mental health advocacy.
Whether you're an experienced Trustee or looking to take on your first Board role, we'd love to hear from you if you have strong financial expertise, sound judgement, and a commitment to making a difference. Experience of charity finance and accounts would be particularly valuable.

What are we looking for?
As Treasurer, you will have a good working knowledge of finance and financial processes, with the ability to produce reports for the Board analysing and explaining the current financial position of the charity and making the Board aware of any issues. Experience of charity accounts and finance would be particularly welcome.

As Treasurer, you will have the opportunity to help shape and develop the financial processes and functions of a long-standing and highly respected mental health charity, as well as assisting the wider Board to make informed financial decisions that will help Lamp to continue to deliver high quality services whilst remaining efficient, financially stable and a rewarding place to work. The services that Lamp provides for those with mental health conditions and their carers across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland make a significant difference to the quality of life of those we help, assisting and empowering people in often very distressing circumstances to access the support and the help that they need.
