We seek a Tech & Digital Trustee to shape/overseeing our charity’s digital strategy. 

Ensure we use technology to strengthens our impact, increase efficiency, and aligns with our values. Also, to use digital tools, data, and systems in an ethical, inclusive, and effective way.

What will you be doing?

Our eclectic Board of Trustess is in need of an enthusiastic Tech & Digital Trustee.  This key role and expertise is currently absent which impacts the efficiency of our Charities operations.  

 This Trustee will lead on shaping, supporting and overseeing the charity’s digital strategy. They will help ensure that our use of technology strengthens our impact, increases efficiency, and aligns with our values.  Additionally, guide the charity to use digital tools, data, and systems in an ethical, inclusive, and effective way.

What are we looking for?

Person Specification

Essential:

- Experience in digital strategy, IT management, or technology implementation (in any sector).

- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate digital opportunities into practical action.

- Understanding of data protection, cybersecurity, and ethical digital practices.

  • Commitment to the values and mission of  London Borough of Hounslow Swimming Club
  • Willingness to act as an active, engaged, and collaborative Board member.

- Knowledge of digital inclusion, accessibility, and online safety issues.

Desirable:

- Experience of working in or with the charity, social enterprise, or public sectors.

- Previous experience as a Trustee or non-executive director (training can be provided).

What difference will you make?

As a trustee with digital skills and expertise, you will advise and lead the Board in tech & digital requirements; ensuring we are using the most up-to-date tech available to us as well as ensuring we maximise the tools we already have. 

Our swim club charity delivers both fully funded and low cost multiple swimming/water safety and activity cross generational community programmes to local residents in an ethnically diverse Borough.  Hence, it's important we operate efficiently, can communicate and engage with our participants inclusively and effectively.  Ensuring that our electronic enrolment is straightforward for all our users.

Upcoming tasks may include: Manage migration to Office 365, website redevelopment and updates, sourcing an appropriate automated booking system for our community programmes with ability to collect data for monitoring and evaluation purposes. Sourcing digital devices available to charities.
