Social media manager
We are seeking an enthusiastic and creative Social Media Manager to help raise awareness of our Clothes Bank. Through effective social media engagement, you will help increase public awareness of clothing poverty and highlight the positive impact of our work.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities include creating, scheduling, and publishing engaging content across social media platforms. This may include writing posts, designing simple graphics, sharing photographs.
You will help develop a consistent and positive online presence that reflects the organisation’s values and mission and helping to build meaningful relationships with followers and supporters.
You will assist in planning social media campaigns that increase awareness, encourage donations, recruit volunteers, and promote fundraising activities. You may also analyse engagement levels and recommend improvements to help grow our audience and maximise impact.
Working closely with the director, you will help gather stories, updates, photographs, and information that can be transformed into engaging digital content. You will ensure content remains accurate, inclusive, and aligned with the organisation’s objectives.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a creative, enthusiastic, and reliable individual who is passionate about using social media to make a positive impact within the community. The ideal Social Media Manager will have excellent communication skills and the ability to create engaging content that reflects our organisation's mission and values.
We would like someone who is confident using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn and who understands how to engage audiences effectively. Experience creating social media posts, graphics, videos, or digital content would be beneficial.
Strong written communication skills are important, as the volunteer will be responsible for creating clear, informative, and inspiring content that promotes our services, fundraising campaigns, events, and volunteer opportunities.
We are looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated, and able to manage content schedules consistently. The ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and take initiative is highly valued.
Creativity is another key quality. We welcome volunteers who can bring fresh ideas, develop engaging campaigns, and identify new ways to raise awareness and increase community engagement.
An understanding of branding, audience engagement, and social media trends would be advantageous. Basic graphic design skills and familiarity with tools such as Canva are also desirable.
Most importantly, we are seeking someone who believes in our mission, demonstrates professionalism and integrity, and is committed to helping young people and families experiencing hardship. Their creativity, dedication, and communication skills will help strengthen our online presence and support the continued growth and success of our Clothes Bank.
What difference will you make?
A Volunteer Social Media Manager will play a vital role in helping our Clothes Bank raise awareness, engage with the community, and expand our reach. Effective social media management will enable us to connect with individuals who need support, attract new volunteers, increase donations, and build stronger relationships with supporters and local organisations.
The Social Media Manager will help promote our services, campaigns, fundraising activities, and community initiatives across various digital platforms. By creating engaging and informative content, they will increase public awareness of clothing poverty and highlight the positive impact our organisation has on the lives of individuals and families experiencing hardship.
Through regular and consistent social media activity, you will help strengthen our online presence and ensure our message reaches a wider audience. This increased visibility can lead to greater community support, more clothing and financial donations, and increased volunteer recruitment, all of which are essential to the sustainability of our Clothes Bank.
The role will also help us share success stories, celebrate achievements, promote events, and communicate important updates to our supporters. By building an active and engaged online community, the Social Media Manager will help foster trust, encourage participation, and strengthen our reputation within the local community.
Additionally, effective social media management can help us demonstrate our impact to potential funders, partners, and stakeholders by showcasing the work we do and the difference we make. This can support future fundraising and partnership opportunities.
Ultimately, the Volunteer Social Media Manager will help us reach more people, increase community engagement, strengthen our brand, and support the continued growth of our organisation. Their contribution will be instrumental in helping us deliver our mission and ensure that more individuals and families have access to the clothing and practical support they need.
