Social Media Engagement Volunteer
We're looking for a friendly, reliable volunteer to help us stay connected with our online community. You'll be the welcoming voice behind our social media channels—responding to comments and messages, and inviting people who engage with our content to follow our pages.
What will you be doing?
- Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and mentions across our social media channels
- Reply promptly and appropriately, reflecting our supportive, stigma-free tone
- Invite people who engage with our posts to like or follow our pages
- Flag any safeguarding concerns or complex queries to the team
What are we looking for?
If you feel you can help with even some of the things listed below, we’d really love to hear from you so please email us and we’ll arrange a chat.
We're looking for someone with the following:
Proven experience working within marketing, communications, PR, content creation, managing social media or similar
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Exceptional organisational and interpersonal skills.
The ability to use content management systems, social media platforms, web analytic tools, and digital marketing methods.
Proficiency in content creation tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Canva.
Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
An interest in mental health/suicide prevention
To bring fresh ideas and perspective to how we engage with the community.
Lived experience of either suicidal thoughts, bereavement by suicide, personal mental health challenges or experience supporting someone else with mental health problems is preferable.
What difference will you make?
As a Social Media Engagement Volunteer, your primary goal is to amplify the mission of Reach Out for Mental Health. By driving digital strategy you directly connect people in emotional pain with vital, life-saving peer support and counselling resources.
Can you help us with this?
You will need to be comfortable and confident to work independently but meet with the Founder and other comms and marketing team to collaborate once a fortnight for around an hour, this can be done remotely.
Time commitment will be around 2-4 hours a week. If you can do more that’s awesome!
Before you apply
If you feel you can help with even some of the things listed we’d really love to hear from you so please get in contact and we’ll arrange a chat.
Thank you!
