We're looking for an enthusiastic & committed new Project Manager to work alongside medical teams, arranging travel, communications & logistics to ensure every child with cystic fibrosis gets access to the best care available.

What will you be doing?

The most important aspect of the Project Manager’s role is facilitating collaboration between the UK CF multidisciplinary team and the corresponding partner team, both whilst in the UK and in the partner country. The project manager will be expected to arrange travel and accommodation, take charge of practicalities during medical exchanges, and accompany the UK team when they travel to the partner country.

Other responsibilities include arranging travel documentation (e.g. visas, flight bookings), budget management and progress reporting.

What are we looking for?

The Project Manager must be able to demonstrate excellent planning and organisational skills and be able to work as part of a diverse team of medical professionals. An ability to respond quickly to changing circumstances or opportunities is also important. Candidates should be energetic, interested in healthcare and willing to learn about cystic fibrosis.  This role requires a degree of continuity so that the appointment would ideally be for a minimum of 3 years. Project managers may be required to take on responsibility for existing projects, or help CHI develop new partnerships, potentially within Hungary, Romania or Uzbekistan.

Key applicant requirements:

  • Experience in project management or similar organisational skills.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to improve healthcare of all children and young adults with cystic fibrosis.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about, cystic fibrosis and the key care requirements.
  • Competence in a foreign language is desirable but not essential.

What difference will you make?

Our project managers ensure Child Health International is able to make the most efficient use of our medical professionals time and expertise, maximising the benefit we can provide to the cystic fibrosis community within the host country. All our medical teams give their time and expertise for free, meaning Child Health International is able to provide incredible value for money, achieving real and measurable change to the lives of children and young adults living with cystic fibrosis abroad. Previous projects have seen life expectancy almost double over a 10-year period.
