Help raise awareness of endometriosis in your community! As a Community Outreach and Awareness Volunteer, you’ll represent Endometriosis South Coast at events and stalls, sharing information and supporting people affected by this complex condition.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for enthusiastic and approachable volunteers to help represent Endometriosis South Coast at community events, health fairs, and awareness days. Our mission is to support people living with endometriosis and related conditions while increasing understanding and visibility across local communities.

As a Community Outreach and Awareness Volunteer, you’ll play a key part in helping us connect with the public, share vital information, and promote our support services. You’ll be the friendly face of our charity at events — whether chatting with visitors, handing out leaflets, or helping set up an information stall.

You’ll be part of a small, supportive, and inclusive team of volunteers and trustees who are passionate about making a real difference. We’ll provide training, guidance, and all the materials you need, so you can feel confident when representing the organisation.

Key responsibilities

  • Represent Endometriosis South Coast at community events, awareness stalls, and health or wellbeing fairs.
  • Set up and pack down event materials such as banners, leaflets, and merchandise.
  • Engage with members of the public in a friendly and approachable manner, sharing accurate and inclusive information about endometriosis and our work.
  • Signpost individuals to our website, support groups, and resources for further help.
  • Answer general questions (training and guidance will be provided) and collect feedback or contact details where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with other volunteers and trustees to make events welcoming, inclusive, and informative.
  • Promote our mission of awareness, advocacy, and support across the community.

Who you’ll be working with

You’ll join our small, dedicated team of volunteers and trustees who are committed to supporting people with endometriosis and improving public understanding of the condition. We’re an inclusive organisation that values lived experience and welcomes volunteers from all backgrounds, especially those from marginalised or underrepresented communities.

Why this role matters

Your involvement will help us reach more people who may be struggling in silence, unaware that support and information are available. Every conversation you have and every leaflet you hand out helps us challenge stigma, raise awareness, and build understanding.

This is a flexible, hands-on volunteer role that’s ideal for someone who enjoys meeting people and being part of community events. Whether you can volunteer a few hours a month or a couple of times a year, your time will make a real difference in helping Endometriosis South Coast continue its vital work.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a friendly, approachable, and reliable volunteer to join our team as a Community Outreach and Awareness Volunteer. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys engaging with people, sharing information, and being part of a small but passionate team working to improve awareness and understanding of endometriosis.

You don’t need formal qualifications or prior charity experience — what matters most is your enthusiasm, empathy, and willingness to represent Endometriosis South Coast in a professional and inclusive way.

Essential qualities and skills

  • Excellent communication skills: You can speak confidently to a wide range of people, explaining information clearly and compassionately.
  • Empathy and understanding: You are patient and respectful when interacting with individuals who may be experiencing pain, frustration, or uncertainty.
  • Friendly and approachable: You make people feel comfortable and welcome when engaging at events or community spaces.
  • Organised and reliable: You can manage stall setup, materials, and schedules effectively and ensure tasks are completed during events.
  • Team player: You are happy to work alongside other volunteers and trustees, sharing responsibilities and supporting colleagues.
  • Confidence in public settings: You are comfortable representing a charity at events, speaking with members of the public, and answering questions.
  • Commitment to confidentiality: You understand the importance of handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Experience volunteering at events or with a charity is beneficial but not required.
  • Familiarity with endometriosis, women’s health issues, or community health initiatives.
  • Experience in public engagement, customer service, or outreach roles.
  • Basic organisational skills for managing stall materials, recording contacts, or collecting feedback.

Personal attributes

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference, enjoys meeting new people, and can represent the charity positively. You should be enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to share ideas to help us improve our outreach.

Our ideal volunteer values inclusion and diversity. We particularly welcome applicants from marginalised communities, as we believe diverse voices and lived experiences strengthen our work and help us better serve the people affected by endometriosis.

This role is flexible and can be adapted around your availability and strengths, whether that’s helping at large events, small community stalls, or supporting behind the scenes with planning and feedback.

If you’re someone who wants to make a real impact, help raise awareness of endometriosis, and empower people through knowledge and support, we’d love to hear from you.

What difference will you make?

Your role as a Community Outreach and Awareness Volunteer will have a direct and meaningful impact on Endometriosis South Coast and the people we support. By representing our charity at events, health fairs, and community spaces, you will help raise awareness of endometriosis — a complex, full-body condition that is often misunderstood and under-recognised.

Every conversation you have, leaflet you share, or resource you provide contributes to improving understanding of endometriosis and empowering those affected to seek support. Many people living with this condition feel isolated or unheard; your presence at events can help them feel seen, supported, and connected to a community that cares.

Your work will also help the charity achieve its broader goals. By engaging with the public, you’ll support our advocacy and education efforts, increase visibility for our services, and encourage people to get involved in volunteering, fundraising, or training opportunities. The feedback you collect from attendees can help us improve our outreach and ensure our resources meet the needs of the community.

In addition, your role allows our small team of trustees and volunteers to focus on delivering programmes, developing resources, and expanding support services. By managing stalls and engaging directly with the public, you amplify our reach and make it possible for the charity to connect with more people than we could otherwise.

The difference you’ll make:

  • You’ll raise awareness of endometriosis and related conditions in local communities.
  • You’ll help people access vital information, support, and resources.
  • You’ll contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment that challenges stigma and empowers those affected.
  • You’ll strengthen the charity’s presence and reputation at events, helping us reach new supporters, volunteers, and partners.
  • You’ll provide valuable insights and feedback from the community to help us improve our services and outreach.

This is more than attending events — it’s about creating meaningful connections, helping people feel supported, and spreading knowledge that can change lives. Your time and effort will directly contribute to our mission of education, advocacy, and empowerment for everyone affected by endometriosis, helping us build stronger communities and a more informed public.
