We are looking for individuals to support the delivery of MDSC services and strengthen community engagement through non-clinical volunteering.  This could include those with experience in fundraising, communications, business admin and the like.

What will you be doing?

  • Front-of-house support including reception and customer service 
  • Welcoming and assisting service users to engage with the charity this could include telephone work, administration tasks, and engaging directly with service users that attend our centres
  • Supporting events and fundraising by organising communications, administration and fundraising activities for engagement of our community and the wider community we operate in 

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in areas such as business admin, fundraising, communications, advocacy and support and disability.  
  • Induction and training completion as required 
  • Adherence to MDSC values and policies 
  • Administration skills or
  • Fundraising skills or
  • Communication/digital skills 
  • Understanding of disability and the impact this can have on a person
  • Previous understanding of muscular dystrophy would be an incredible essential however we appreciate as this is a rare disease this may not be realistic however a willingness to learn about it is essential

As a small charity we rely on the support of volunteers in all our departments to help us operate our charity.  We are growing as an organisation and support over 700 people with Muscular dystrophy.  We rely on experienced volunteers to support us by sharing their skills in our departments to sustain our growth and support offers.
