7-15 hours / week

Help us build the volunteer workforce behind our growing youth football club. You'll recruit, welcome and onboard volunteers into rewarding roles, ensuring every volunteer enjoys a positive experience from their first enquiry onwards.

What will you be doing?

As Cre8 FC continues to grow, we're looking for a Lead Recruiter of Volunteers to help build and strengthen our volunteer workforce over the course of the season.

Grassroots football depends on volunteers. Across England, around 1.4 million people volunteer within grassroots football, helping provide opportunities for millions of players. At Cre8 FC, we believe volunteering should benefit the individual as much as the organisation. We have a strong track record of supporting young people and adults to develop confidence, gain valuable experience and progress into coaching, refereeing, employment, further education and leadership opportunities through volunteering.

Working alongside our committee, you'll help attract, recruit and welcome volunteers into a wide range of roles, ensuring they receive a professional introduction and are well prepared to make a positive impact.

You will help to:

  • Develop and coordinate volunteer recruitment throughout the season.
  • Create and refresh volunteer role descriptions and adverts.
  • Promote opportunities through Reach Volunteering and other suitable platforms.
  • Recruit volunteers for on-field roles, including coaches, assistant coaches, team assistants, first aiders and photographers.
  • Recruit volunteers for off-field roles, including committee members, social media, marketing, fundraising and administration volunteers.
  • Coordinate informal recruitment conversations.
  • Oversee volunteer onboarding and inductions.
  • Work with committee members to identify future volunteer needs and succession planning.

This role is expected to last for one football season (approximately eight months) and will play a key part in helping the club continue to grow sustainably.

What are we looking for?

We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people and is passionate about helping others find meaningful volunteering opportunities.

Experience in recruitment, volunteer management, HR or people development. More importantly, we're looking for someone who is organised, approachable and able to communicate confidently with a wide range of people.

Ideally, you'll have experience or an interest in:

  • Volunteer recruitment or onboarding.
  • HR or people management.
  • Writing engaging role descriptions and advertisements.
  • Interviewing or selection processes.
  • Building positive relationships.
  • Organising projects and coordinating multiple priorities.

We're particularly looking for someone who:

  • Enjoys helping people succeed.
  • Has excellent communication skills.
  • Is organised and proactive.
  • Can manage information sensitively and confidentially.
  • Works well independently and collaboratively.
  • Shares our commitment to supporting children, young people and volunteers.

Previous experience within grassroots football or the voluntary sector is welcomed but not essential.

What difference will you make?

Volunteers are central to everything we do. As Cre8 FC continues to grow, we need a structured and proactive approach to attracting talented people who can support our players, families and wider community.

This role will help us build a stronger volunteer workforce across coaching, matchday, media and operational roles. By improving our recruitment and onboarding processes, you'll ensure volunteers feel welcomed, informed and valued from their very first interaction with the club.

Many volunteers bring professional skills that can make a significant difference, yet these skills often go untapped. By helping us recruit people with a diverse range of experiences, you'll strengthen the club's ability to deliver high-quality opportunities for children and young people while creating a more sustainable organisation for the future.

Ultimately, your work will help ensure we continue attracting enthusiastic volunteers who share our values and want to make a lasting difference in grassroots football.

Before you apply

Applications will be reviewed as they are received, and we may close the opportunity early if a suitable volunteer is identified.

We aim to respond to all applicants within seven days of receiving their application. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an informal online or telephone conversation to discuss the role, answer any questions and explore how their skills and experience could support Cre8 FC.

If you have experience in recruitment, HR, volunteer management or people development, we'd encourage you to highlight this within your application. We also welcome applicants with transferable skills and an enthusiasm for supporting children and young people through volunteering.

We look forward to hearing from you.
