Head of Legal Hub & Innovation
Help build PWN London’s Legal Hub from the ground up. Lead an exciting initiative combining legal expertise, member support and AI innovation to create a trusted legal guidance service for professional women and allies across London.
What will you be doing?
PWN London is seeking a passionate legal professional to lead the development of our Legal Hub, a strategic initiative designed to provide guidance, resources, and support to our community of professional women and allies.
As Head of Legal Hub & Innovation, you will play a key role in shaping and growing this service from the ground up. Working closely with the President and Board, you will help define the vision, structure, and delivery model for the Legal Hub, ensuring it provides meaningful value to our members while operating within appropriate legal and regulatory boundaries.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Developing the strategy and roadmap for the Legal Hub.
- Exploring innovative ways to provide legal information and guidance to members, including the potential use of AI-powered tools and knowledge resources.
- Building relationships with law firms, chambers, legal professionals, and other potential partners.
- Supporting the creation of legal content, workshops, webinars, and educational resources.
- Advising the Board on legal, governance, compliance, and risk-related matters when required.
- Providing guidance on privacy, data protection, and GDPR matters on an ad-hoc basis.
- Supporting the review of policies, terms and conditions, volunteer agreements, and other organisational documents when needed.
- Helping establish appropriate processes, disclaimers, and governance frameworks for member-facing legal initiatives.
- Identifying opportunities to strengthen the value of PWN London’s Premium Membership offering through legal education and support.
This is a strategic and flexible volunteer role rather than a fee-earning legal position. We are not seeking someone to provide ongoing legal representation or casework. Instead, we are looking for someone who enjoys building, innovating, and helping create a sustainable legal support ecosystem for our community.
You will work alongside a small, ambitious, volunteer-led Board and have the opportunity to shape a project with significant long-term impact. The role offers considerable autonomy and the chance to leave a lasting legacy within a growing professional network committed to balanced leadership, professional development, mentoring, and community impact.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a volunteer who is passionate about supporting professional women, promoting balanced leadership, and helping build impactful initiatives that create real value for our community.
The ideal candidate will have legal expertise combined with a strategic and collaborative mindset. They should be comfortable working in a volunteer-led environment, contributing ideas, and helping shape a new initiative from concept to implementation.
Essential qualities and experience:
- Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, Legal Executive, In-House Counsel, Compliance Professional, Legal Academic, or equivalent legal background.
- Good understanding of UK legal and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain complex legal concepts in a practical and accessible way.
- Strategic thinker who enjoys building projects and developing new initiatives.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a diverse volunteer team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Commitment to equality, inclusion, and professional development.
Desirable experience:
- Employment law.
- Equality, discrimination, or workplace-related legal matters.
- Corporate or commercial law.
- Data protection and GDPR.
- Governance within charities, non-profits, CICs, associations, or membership organisations.
- Legal technology, innovation, or AI applications within the legal sector.
- Partnership development and stakeholder engagement.
- Experience creating legal content, workshops, webinars, or educational resources.
- Experience managing volunteers, projects, or cross-functional initiatives.
Personal qualities we value:
- Positive and solution-oriented approach.
- Professional integrity and sound judgement.
- Curiosity and willingness to explore innovative approaches.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work with people from different backgrounds and industries.
- Passion for empowering others and contributing to a purpose-driven organisation.
We recognise that candidates may not meet every requirement listed above. We encourage applications from individuals with transferable skills, relevant experience, and a genuine interest in helping develop a meaningful Legal Hub that will support the growth and impact of PWN London.
What difference will you make?
PWN London is a volunteer-led professional network committed to advancing balanced leadership through networking, leadership development, mentoring, professional growth, and community building.
As we continue to grow, one of our strategic priorities is to strengthen the value we provide to our members and create meaningful benefits that support them throughout their professional journeys.
This role will help us establish and develop our Legal Hub, an initiative designed to provide legal education, guidance, resources, and access to expertise for our community. The Legal Hub has been part of PWN London’s long-term vision for several years, but we now need the right volunteer leader to help bring it to life.
The successful volunteer will help us create a sustainable framework for legal support, educational content, partnerships, and future innovation. Their expertise will help ensure that our initiatives are legally sound, appropriately governed, and aligned with best practices.
The role will also support the organisation more broadly by providing occasional guidance on governance, data protection, compliance, policies, and risk management matters. As a growing Community Interest Company (CIC), having access to legal expertise is invaluable in helping us operate professionally and responsibly.
Beyond the immediate organisational benefits, this role will contribute directly to our membership growth and retention objectives. By developing a high-value Legal Hub, we aim to strengthen our Premium Membership offering, create new opportunities for member engagement, and establish partnerships with law firms and legal professionals who share our mission.
In the longer term, we hope to explore innovative approaches to member support, including the responsible use of technology and AI-powered legal information tools. The volunteer will play an important role in helping us shape that vision and ensure it is implemented in a responsible and sustainable way.
Ultimately, this role offers an opportunity to create a lasting legacy by building a service that will benefit hundreds of professional women, allies, volunteers, and future members across London and beyond.
