Fundraiser for arts charity
We want to build our fundraising to help strengthen our financial base and develop Hurn Court Opera's future as an organisation focused on providing performance opportunities for up-and-coming professional opera singers
What will you be doing?
The Fundraiser’s role is to enable grant-funding and donations to support the work of the organisation. Consequently, you should be experienced in sourcing, bidding for and winning grants and donations across a range of funding routes, such as:
• Grant-awarding trusts
• Match-funding organisations
• Web-based campaigns, such as crowd-funding
• Direct approaches to regional and local businesses, e.g. for event sponsorship, programme advertising and reciprocal arrangements
What are we looking for?
You should be experienced in sourcing, bidding for and winning grants and donations across a range of funding routes, with grant-awarding trusts and web-based campaigns, such as crowd-funding, we think as the key activities.
You should also be able to build funding by developing new and existing private and commercial networks, working with our trustees, our patrons and our friends
What difference will you make?
Your work as a fundraiser will support the development of young opera singers as they embark on their professional careers. Your success will also help build audiences for opera in areas where there is limited or no exposure to professional opera performance, by enabling HCO to offer tickets at affordable prices

Before you apply
We would like to appoint a fundraiser quickly, as our current fundraiser is retiring, but finding the right person is more important. So, we will be keen to understand how you approach fundraising and what successes you have had - and whether you will enjoy working with HCO.
We will acknowledge your interest when you respond but interviews may not be until after the closing date and will probably be by video call using MS TEAMS
