Fundraiser
Our little charity has big ideas beyond the scope of our charity shop to fund. We need skilled help in putting together bids. If you are interested in helping to find funds for projects that promote heritage, well being and the environment then this may be the project for you.
What will you be doing?
We are a charity run by local volunteers. We have a collection of important historic boats to be restored and put to work for the community. One operates as a well being boat. Tameside has been selected to receive Heritage Lottery funds and we need to be ready. In order to achieve our objectives, restoring boats for use on mental wellbeing and environmental projects, we need greater resources than can be provided by our current volunteers. We need help in planning our fundraising and making it happen. This may be a role for several volunteers, either working co-operatively or individually on different projects. These projects include purchasing and developing a heritage boatyard in Stalybridge, raising running costs for the well being boat, raising funds for a major boat restoration and essential maintenance on boats. In time it will be necessary to develop a suitable project for the next restored boat to work on. There's plenty for an enthusiastic and skilled fundraiser to get their teeth into!
What are we looking for?
We are looking for a person with a track record in fundraising. Needs to be able to understand the unique blend of objectives that the charity pursues and have the ability to be creative in finding sources of funding to support this unique and innovative project. It would be an advantage to have the ability to code switch between management speak and plain English!
What difference will you make?
Finding the right person or persons to fill this role could make all the difference to a charity that combines saving an important and neglected aspect of waterway heritage with mental well being and care for the environment. A chance to make a real difference while working with a group of friendly, dedicated and down to Earth people.
Before you apply
The candidate will be invited to an informal meeting with some of the trustees and a tour of the three sites from which we operate. This may be followed up with an invitation to an online meeting so that more people can be included in decision making.
