Looking for a dedicated Finance & Accounts Officer to support the financial management of the carnival and its activities. The role involves assisting with budgeting, maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring income and expenditure, and supporting financial reporting processes.

What will you be doing?

The Finance & Accounts Officer will support the financial coordination of Watford Carnival. Key responsibilities include tracking income and expenditure, assisting with budgeting, processing invoices and payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. The volunteer will also help prepare simple financial reports and work closely with the organising team to ensure transparency and proper use of funds throughout the planning and delivery of the carnival.

What are we looking for?

The ideal volunteer will be detail-oriented, organised, and confident working with numbers. They should have experience or knowledge in basic accounting, budgeting, or financial record keeping. Familiarity with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets) is important. We are looking for someone trustworthy, accurate, and able to manage financial information responsibly. Previous experience in finance, bookkeeping, or administrative support will be highly valued.

What difference will you make?

The Finance & Accounts Officer will help ensure Watford Carnival remains financially organised, transparent, and sustainable. Their support in managing budgets, tracking income and expenditure, and maintaining accurate records will strengthen our financial accountability to stakeholders, sponsors, and partners. This role is essential in helping us plan effectively, make informed decisions, and deliver a successful and well-managed community event.

Before you apply

All applications will be received via the Reach platform, where candidates are expected to submit their CV, LinkedIn profile, or portfolio, where applicable. We are particularly interested in seeing relevant experience, examples of past work (especially for creative and technical roles), and a short statement explaining their interest in supporting Watford Carnival.

Shortlisted applicants will be contacted via email and invited for a brief online interview or informal discussion to better understand their experience, skills, and availability. For some roles, we may also request a small task or portfolio review to assess suitability.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, and successful candidates will be contacted within 1–2 weeks of submission. We aim to begin onboarding immediately after selection to ensure adequate preparation ahead of the carnival.
