Help a new ADHD CIC run welcoming, neurodivergent-friendly workshops and community events in Buckinghamshire.

What will you be doing?

We are looking for a volunteer with at least three years’ experience in social media, marketing, communications or content creation to help Chiltern ADHD Clinic CIC build our online presence and reach more neurodivergent people locally.

Tasks may include:

  • Creating social media posts, captions and reels
  • Helping develop a simple social media content plan
  • Advising on how to improve engagement across Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn
  • Turning workshop/event information into accessible promotional content
  • Helping us communicate clearly with ADHD, autistic and neurodivergent audiences
  • Supporting basic marketing strategy for community events and low-cost support
  • Reviewing our current messaging and suggesting improvements
  • Helping create reusable templates or content ideas

We are especially interested in someone with experience in social media marketing, digital communications, copywriting, community engagement or marketing for charities/social enterprises.

All content would be reviewed by the CIC before being published. Volunteers would not be expected to manage confidential information, client messages, bookings or payments.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with at least three years’ experience in social media, marketing, communications, copywriting or digital content creation.

They should be confident creating clear, engaging content and ideally have experience of promoting events, community projects, charities, CICs, health services or social impact work.

Helpful experience would include:

  • Social media content creation
  • Writing captions, posts or short-form copy
  • Creating reels or simple video content
  • Planning content around events or campaigns
  • Using platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Canva or Meta Business Suite
  • Understanding how to reach and engage a specific audience
  • Communicating sensitive topics in a warm, accessible and inclusive way

The most important qualities are:

  • Reliable and self-motivated
  • Creative but able to follow a brief
  • Clear and thoughtful communicator
  • Non-judgemental and inclusive
  • Interested in ADHD, autism, neurodivergence, mental health or community work
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and making edits
  • Able to understand confidentiality, boundaries and safeguarding around public communications

Lived experience of ADHD, autism or neurodivergence is very welcome, but not essential.

What difference will you make?

Chiltern ADHD Clinic CIC provides free and low-cost support for neurodivergent people, families, students and the wider local community.

Skilled marketing support will help us reach the people who need our services, promote workshops and community events more effectively, and build awareness of ADHD/autism support locally.

This role is essential because many neurodivergent people struggle to find accessible, trusted support after diagnosis or while waiting for services. Clear, engaging and well-targeted communications will help us increase attendance, improve community awareness, attract future supporters and make our CIC more sustainable.

Before you apply

Please send a short message about why you are interested in the role and any relevant experience, such as events, volunteering, customer service, community work, youth work, mental health or supporting people.

Suitable applicants will be invited for an informal chat. This is not a formal interview; it is a chance to talk through the role, availability, support needs and whether it feels like a good fit.

We aim to respond to applicants as soon as possible. Safeguarding checks may be needed depending on age, role and level of involvement.
