Event Photographer

What will you be doing?

We’re looking for a volunteer photographer to join us at our Fashion Show event on Saturday 20 September 2025, held at John Lewis & Partners, Reading.

The show runs from 2:30pm – 5:30pm, but we’d ask you to join us from 12pm to allow time for a quick venue walkthrough, a briefing on what’s needed, and the chance to meet the models and capture some behind-the-scenes shots while they prepare.

The key deliverable is a curated selection of high-quality digital images capturing:

• Behind-the-scenes preparation
• The full catwalk show and audience reactions
• The essence and emotion of the day

You’ll be supported by the Event Coordinator and members of the My Cancer My Choices team. We’ll give you a clear brief on the day and be there to help ensure you’re in the right place at the right time to capture key moments.

What are we looking for?

• Portrait and candid photography skills – able to capture people naturally and respectfully
• Creative eye – understands how to tell a story through images
• Good time management – able to move between locations and adapt quickly to what's happening
• Discretion and sensitivity – respectful of people’s personal journeys and emotions
• Professionalism – reliable, punctual, and calm under pressure
• Post-production skills (preferred) – basic editing and image curation for a polished final selection

What difference will you make?

This is more than just taking photos—it’s about capturing a moment of bravery, joy, and connection.

Our models are individuals who have all experienced a cancer diagnosis. Walking the catwalk in front of an audience is an enormous personal milestone and a moment of real celebration. Your images will become treasured memories for them and a lasting reminder of how far they’ve come.

At the same time, your photography will help the charity share the incredible impact of our work with a wider audience—bringing in future supporters, volunteers, and donors. You’ll play a direct role in helping us grow.
