Help us plant trees sustainably in the UK, balancing carbon and growing our organisation.

Your focus will be on raising money from businesses / organisations to help tackle climate change.

What will you be doing?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to be an integral team member in this not for profit community interest company. Based in Bristol & Mid Wales with a team working remotely across the UK.

We are looking for a committed person who is able to give us between 1-3 days a week, over the next 12 months to help us drive this organisation forward.

You will be supported into the role our Director, Ash. Who will bring you up to speed with everything 9Trees. You will have their support throughout and you will be working alongside the rest of the team. This is about everyone working together to achieve the same goal.

We are looking for someone to bring their experience, skills and knowledge to 9Trees and to really help us grow.

Do you have experience of building and maintaining corporate partnerships with businesses of varying sizes and prominence?

Do you have the skills and expertise to help us take businesses and organisations on a journey in realising their potential to really make a positive step in tackling climate change; whilst supporting local communities and creating new jobs within the environmental sector.

We have a long term vision; it’s not just about planting trees and in a world where people want to see instant results communicating the benefits of supporting 9Trees can take time. So your ability to communicate effectively is key, as we want people to return to us year after year.

We already have a network of businesses and organisations and we need to maintain these relationships whilst building new ones.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain new and existing corporate partnerships / relationships. Developing long term support by providing excellent customer service and subscriber journeys.
  • Research corporate prospects, proactively generate new leads and develop relationships with key individuals.
  • Coordinate with other members of our team to ensure a joined up approach and provide regular feedback on progress
  • Help support our online presence with professional social media posts that work in line with our marketing and communications guidelines.
  • Act as first point of contact for corporate enquiries
  • Attend in person events to represent 9Trees, expand our network and generate leads

What are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who has experience of corporate fundraising, building direct relationships with businesses and maintaining these relationships year on year.

This means that your communications skills are adaptive, depending on the situation and context of each conversation. You are just as good at promoting our cause through email as you are face to face at a networking event.

You are able to pick up leads generated by our directors and run with them and take ownership.

We are a small team all working remotely so the ability to work individually and as a team remotely and manage your own time will be essential.

To understand that we are still a grassroots organisation and that comes with it's own amazing rewards and unique challenges.

What difference will you make?

This role will be key and integral to moving 9Trees to the next stage. All the trees we have planted have been fully funded by our subscribers and we have shown that this way of working works. Landowners want to work with us and subscribers want to have their trees planted somewhere where they know they will be looked after for the long term.

We now need to build our on our relationships with businesses so we can help utilise the change that employees are wanting to see change within the organisations they work for.

Helping us to generate income from businesses not only increases the number of trees we plant but also allows us to create more jobs and secures the future of our organisation.
