Clinical Trainer

What will you be doing?

We need dedicated, conscientious, and most of all consistent volunteers who want to improve health inequalities across the world. 

Building capacity amongst healthcare professionals requires experienced clinicians to share their clinical knowledge, transferable skills, and problem-solving experience.

The Clinical Trainer role is focussed on the effective use of their clinical knowledge and experience in an adapted manner to colleagues in Yemen delivering training related to clinical matters.  

The next training mission is scheduled for November 2026. 

The training needs analyses will relate to:

• Pre-hospital care
• Women's health 
• Family medicine / primary care 
• Nursing 
• Public Health 
• Mental health 

Clinical Trainers will be versed in any of the following activities:

• Clinical governance 
• Clinical leadership
• Advanced Life Support
• Advanced Trauma Life Support 
• Pre-hospital care for non-doctors/Paramedics
• Trauma Based Therapy 
• Oncology MDT 
• Midwifery emergencies 

• Nursing skills 

   

What are we looking for?

An intellectually stimulating role, this requires the volunteer to have problem solving skills and understanding and analyzing different approaches from different contexts, and re-synthesizing these to a different context. Teaching and training in clinical environments for 3 years would be a vital skill to have for this.  

3 years of experience of effective communication within a health-related field would be very useful.  

The Clinical Trainers require experience of a flexible approach with dynamic goal setting and project implementation.  

What difference will you make?

You will be working in a small clinical team delivering a small in-person curriculum in one of the above areas.  Practical skills will be prioritized, but discussions regarding resources and ethics may be encouraged too. Working in a culturally-sensitive manner, good communication is vital. English is necessary, Arabic is useful but there will be translators who can help too.  Similarly, experience of healthcare and low-resource settings would be helpful, but not essential.
