Bookkeeper
We are looking for a bookkeeper to set up a suitable accounting system/process, maintain our monthly income and expenditure, raise and follow up invoices and prepare information for our annual accounts
What will you be doing?
Key aspects of the role
1. Work with the directors and founder/head of operations to ensure that our income and expenditure is appropriately and accurately recorded and managed
2. Setting up and maintaining a simple bookkeeping system
3. Preparing high level financial reports for the directors monthly
4. Work with the directors coordinating financial information to be submitted to our accountants
5. Prepare and issue invoices as needed
We anticipate the commitment to be 2 days a week initially to set up and work with the directors to agree a bookkeeping system. Thereafter the time commitment will be around 5-8 hours a month , and 1-2 days day to prepare information for the annual accounts.
We are looking for a volunteer with Level 2 AAT ideally, working towards or qualified to level 3 AAT desirable (or equivalent alternative accounting qualification), who is looking to gain some practical experience in bookkeeping, supporting a small volunteer-led Community Interest Company.
We are looking for a responsible and trustworthy volunteer as you will have access to our financial information and other information to undertake this role.

Safe Gigs for Women is a wholly volunteer-led and run organisation that works to prevent sexual assault and sexual harassment in live music events. We work with venues, festival organisers, promoters, managers and artists. We take a bystander-theory led approach to our conversations with members of the public.

Safe Gigs for Women CIC is small wholly volunteer led and run non-profit organisation that has a big reach. We attend a wide range of festivals and shows over the year, and in 2023 we spoke with 10,000 festival and gig-goers. 2025 is also our 10 year anniversary. We are seeking a volunteer bookkeeper to enable us to manage our work more effectively and efficiently - this will allow us to undertake more activities including events and campaigns for our 10th year - which in turn will help us further in our mission to reduce sexual harassment and violence in live music.
