Bid writer for growing clothes bank
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bid Writer. You will work closely with the Director to identify suitable funding opportunities and prepare high-quality funding applications that clearly demonstrate the needs of our community and the positive impact of our work.
What will you be doing?
Key responsibilities include researching suitable grant opportunities, reviewing eligibility requirements, gathering relevant information, and writing compelling funding applications. You will help articulate the organisation’s mission, objectives, activities, and outcomes in a clear and persuasive manner that meets funders expectations.
The role will involve collecting and presenting evidence of impact, including statistics, case studies, beneficiary feedback, and project outcomes. You will assist in developing project proposals, preparing budgets where required, and ensuring applications are completed accurately and submitted within deadlines.
You may also support the preparation of funding reports and monitoring documents, helping us maintain positive relationships with existing funders and demonstrate accountability for received grants.
We are seeking someone with strong writing, research, and organisational skills and experience in grant writing.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting communities and helping our Clothes Bank secure the funding needed to continue and expand its services.
The ideal Volunteer Bid Writer will possess a combination of strong communication, research, and organisational skills, along with a commitment to making a positive impact.
Excellent written communication skills are essential. The successful volunteer should be able to write clearly, persuasively, and professionally, presenting information in a way that engages funders and demonstrates the value and impact of our work.
Strong research skills are also important. A Bid Writer should be confident in identifying suitable funding opportunities, reviewing funder criteria, and gathering relevant information to support funding applications. They should be able to assess which opportunities best align with the organisation’s objectives and priorities.
Attention to detail is a key quality. Funding applications often require accurate information, supporting evidence, budgets, and strict adherence to guidelines and deadlines. We are looking for someone who can work carefully and thoroughly to ensure applications are completed to a high standard.
Good organisational and time-management skills are highly valued. The ability to manage multiple deadlines, prioritise tasks, and work independently is important in ensuring funding opportunities are not missed.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who believes in our mission and is committed to helping us support young people and families experiencing hardship. Their skills, dedication, and enthusiasm will help us secure vital funding and continue making a meaningful difference within our community.
What difference will you make?
The Bid Writer will play a crucial role in helping our Clothes Bank secure the funding needed to sustain and develop our services. As demand for support continues to grow, securing grants and external funding is essential to ensuring that we can continue providing clothing, essentials, and practical assistance to young people and families experiencing hardship.
The Bid Writer will help identify suitable funding opportunities from charitable trusts, foundations, local authorities, corporate funders, and grant-making organisations. By researching and matching funding opportunities to our projects and objectives, they will increase our chances of securing financial support that aligns with our mission and community needs.
One of the most valuable contributions a Bid Writer brings is their ability to prepare strong, well-written funding applications. They will communicate the impact of our work clearly and effectively, demonstrating how our services benefit vulnerable young people and families. Through compelling proposals, they will help funders understand the importance of our work and the positive difference their support can make.
Successful funding applications will enable us to purchase clothing, toiletries, underwear and essentials, improve our storage and distribution systems, expand outreach activities, recruit and train volunteers, and develop new services that respond to emerging community needs. Funding can also help us strengthen our operational capacity, ensuring that the organisation remains sustainable and able to support more young people in the future.
In addition to writing funding applications, the Bid Writer may assist with collecting data, gathering evidence of impact, and preparing reports for funders. This helps build credibility, demonstrates accountability, and strengthens relationships with funding organisations, increasing the likelihood of future support.
By securing additional funding streams, the Bid Writer will help reduce financial pressures on the organisation and create opportunities for long-term growth. Their work will directly contribute to increasing the number of young people we can support and improving the quality of services we provide.
Ultimately, a Volunteer Bid Writer will help transform ideas into funded projects, allowing our Clothes Bank to continue making a meaningful difference in the lives of young people and families facing financial hardship. Their contribution will support our vision of creating a stronger, more compassionate community where everyone has access to the clothing and practical support they need to live with dignity and confidence.
