Administrator - Disabled Sailing Assoc.
Administrator to join our Sail-Scheduling Team.
The DSA provide 'safe & affordable sailing' for the disabled. We have a team of 2-3 volunteers who corordinate scheduling and interface between sailing crew and disabled members. A fun customer service role, on a week on, week off basis.
What will you be doing?
We have approximately 150 disabled members and about the same number in crew and sail supporters. Our Sail Scheduling Team is the nerve centre of our operation, ensuring that places are booked on sails and any special needs accommodated. Also if weather forces cancellation, then all parties are advised in a timely fashion. It is an interesting customer facing role, which proves to be very rewarding when you get the feedback in the form of thanks & testimonials.
This is a team member role, not a Trustee role.
What are we looking for?
This administration role involves:
Checking sail request emails and answering them during the day on a daily basis, on a rota, working alternate weeks only.
Allocating names onto our sailing calendar and sending out sail confirmations on a daily basis, using Team Up scheduling app, MS excel and MS word.
We are looking for someone who is empathetic and has good organizational skills, plus knowledge of Word and Excel, and ability to add information into spreadsheets.
Good communication and writing skills - able to discuss sailing requirements with our members using the telephone, text and email.
The job hours :
This role is a split post – one week on and one week off, but also covering for holidays.
The role should be approximately 10 - 14 hours every other week (approx. 2 hours a day split between morning and afternoon).
Laptop can be provided.
What difference will you make?
We run 2 x 38ft yachts DSA Freedom and DSA Free Spirit 2, which sail up to 7 days a week, weather permitting. You will work closely with the crew to ensure scheduling is accurate, all disabled needs met, appropriate sail support booked and all parties informed and updated as necessary. You will get to know our members and their requirements and thus provide a seamless scheduling service that makes for happy members and happy crew. Communication is by email, phone and text. This team is highly efficient and is key to our ongoing success and popularity.
