For the last 3 years, I've been gaining experience in commercial and music video production. Mainly assisting on larger projects but also producer smaller passion projects with exciting filmmakers.
I now freelance as a PA on commercials to make time for my own writing and personal projects. So, while work is slow, I want to make sure that I'm actively keeping myself busy and helping out where I can.
I am mostly looking to volunteer in the Film and Television industry as this will align closest to my interests. I hope to share my skills with likeminded - passionate filmmakers and writers, while using the opportunity to learn and meet people that will inspire and challenge me.
Since finishing university, my long term goal has been to learn the creative industries to hopefully be able to help and encourage young filmmakers to create their passion projects in the future.
For this, I started with Production, as this would allow me to learn all areas of filmmaking in one go. This definitely helped but now is time for me to gain experience solely on the creative side of production. I intend to work closely and learn from industry creatives to both gain an understanding, but also to aid my own creative works.
