Work history

About me

I would be a highly skilled and valuable member of a non-exec or trustee team, bringing a wealth of experience from a career spanning more than 25 years in the telecommunications sector in the UK.

Specifically, I have a long history of collaborative, liaison and outreach work, bringing multiple parties together across the industry and Government to solve deep problems and challenges. I also have extensive experience in information security, strategy, governance, audit, risk and resilience.

I'm professionally qualified in the security space as well as being a Chartered Engineer, Chartered IT Professional and a Fellow of the British Computer Society.

I currently act as Chair of the GSM Association Security Assurance Scheme which is a global body looking at the security surrounding the production of SIM cards within the mobile ecosystem.

I am an existing trustee at Breck Foundation, looking at online safety matters.

What am I looking for

I'm most keen to see if I can bring my security skills to the fore, looking at the protection of charities or volunteer-led organisations. That could mean, for me, providing advice and guidance on security, data protection, resilience, risk, audit or governance.

However, I'm also a keen supporter of mental health issues, having recently experienced this myself. I want to encourage people to talk more openly and honestly about their mental health with the objective of removing the 'stigma' around mental health. I am a strong supporter of all forms of diversity and inclusion and endeavour to be the best ally I can be.
