Up to 5 hours per week, predominantly weekday evenings, though with sufficient notice I would be available during the day or weekends
As a Chartered Financial Planner I am highly organised, numerate, and have an instinctively analytical and inquisitive mindset. I am a confident and clear communicator, enabling me to speak with, and listen to, people from all backgrounds and situations in an empathetic and inclusive manner.
My role also means that I am very comfortable creating, analysing and presenting budgets and financial statements. I have in-depth knowledge of pensions, investments, personal finances and general accounting practices.Furthermore, I also have a great deal of experience working directly with trustees and so am acutely aware of their responsibilities, duties of care and values.
I have a wealth of experience being part of, and leading, a team within large multi-national corporations as well as small business. I encourage thinking strategically, sharing responsibilities and challenging ideas, and drawing on the expertise of those around me to achieve a common goal.
I am a registered volunteer for National Planning Week and the PFS 'Forces MoneyPlan' schemes which, respectively, provide pro bono financial guidance to the general public and armed forces personnel and veterans.
I am now looking to further apply my expertise and experience through charitable trustee roles. What I may lack in direct charity experience I most certainly make up for in transferable skills, knowledge, enthusiasm and commitment.
As a financial planner I am used to changing people's lives for the better. I find huge satisfaction from doing so and am therefore looking to work with a charity where I can be part of a team that has a similar impact. Although my professional background is strongly financial, I am ideally looking for a charity that will benefit from my expertise and knowledge as a whole, whilst at the same time be willing to help me develop new skills so that I can make as big an impact as possible. Local causes (I live in Highbury, N5) are particularly appealing to me though I am open to national opportunities if remote working is used.
