I am a communications professional with over 7 years’ experience working in healthcare public and media relations. This has involved working with charities across different disease areas to launch public health and disease awareness campaigns via digital and traditional media, using simple and effective messaging to build understanding of complex health conditions, and encourage people to make healthy changes to their daily lives.
My current job has enabled me to develop skills in event planning, national media sell-in, social media strategy and content creation, website development, as well as team leadership and stakeholder management. I currently manage a team of 20, and line manage three of these people, with responsibility for their career trajectory. A second core part of my job is financial management; I oversee annual budgets of over £4m, with responsibility for ensuring strong profit margins, sound financial stewardship and accurate forecasting.
I am keen to apply these skills to support a charity within my community. I’m excited to volunteer my services to an organisation which helps foster community spirit, or helps those in our society most vulnerable and in need of help.
I am chiefly interested in roles which provide an opportunity to use my professional communications and marketing skills in a way which helps to benefit my wider community. As a lover of arts, culture and the outdoors, I'm looking for a role which will meet one of these interests and provide opportunity to make greater links to my community.
