In October 2023, I retired from my career in investment management; the last 28 years with Brewin Dolphin until its takeover by Royal Bank of Canada in September 2022.
I am a client outcome focussed professional with over 40 years of Investment Management experience, previously providing bespoke investment services to private clients, trusts and charities. As well as looking after multi-generations of private clients, I also managed the investment portfolios of a children focussed charity providing support to vulnerable and disadvantaged children from disrupted home environments, a Surrey school, and two orders of catholic nuns; their understanding and acceptance of risk was diverse.
In summary, I am now looking for opportunities to begin a second career to utilise these skills and considerable experience within the third sector.
I believe my knowledge and extensive experience stands me in good stead to assist charities with the creation or review of an Investment Policy Statement (IPS), appointment of an investment manager and on-going monitoring of their investments, while holding the manager to account.
