I can be available more-or-less any time. I do much of my ongoing work through a remote connection, so when & where is not an issue.
Setting-up networks, servers, VPNs, mail relays, DNS servers, etc, etc. Many in a voluntary capacity in local community centres. I specialise in open-source software solutions (typically licence free and cost free) on both desktops and servers. I should point out that I am not a particular specialist with Microsoft Windows, although this is rarely an issue.
I have worked with local community centres, Victim Support and Citizen's Advice Bureau and a Buddhist Centre, amongst others - usually setting-up and administering their networks for them. I retain an ongoing relationship with some, and I currently administer and maintain three networks via a VPN connection over the Internet.
I have also worked as a contractor in the IT industry, and as such have a detailed understanding of the workings of small and medium-sized businesses, and some detailed understanding of the workings of large corporations that have retained my services in the past.
I have become fairly adept at providing computers and other related equipment at little or no cost. This is particularly helpful for organisations with little or no IT budget.
I will strenuously avoid maintainance of Windows-based desktops!
I would seek a long-term involvement with any organisation needy of an IT guru. Of course, I do not know *everything* about computers, so I also look for opportunities to learn more so as to benefit others. I would particularly like to educate someone else in the organisation and give them the skills to replace me, since nothing is forever.
I am quite adept with electronics right down to component level, and I have been deeply involved in photography, both digital and film, and have used both of these skills in the past to the benefit of organisations that I am involved with on an occasional basis.
