I have been in Investment banking for over 20 years having originally qualified as a Chartered Accountant. As well as having my base accounting and financial competencies I have learnt extensive risk mitigation and management skills, teamwork, communication and strategic decision making.
For the last 5 years I have been a member of the Friends Of City of London Girls School Committee participating in supporting the school and enriching the lives of the girls by providing funding for items not able to be covered by the school budget. This is provided for with money raised from various fundraising activities and parent contributions. Money is allocated to initiatives based on a strategic analysis of the value it will bring to the students.
I have been a an active volunteer over the past 4 years participating in various initiatives including: Arrival Education, a mentorship programme for A level candidates in disadvantaged communities, Future Frontiers, a mentorship programme for GCSE students in disadvantaged communities, WeSpeak, a public speaking mentorship for school and university students, Delivered charitable workshops to promote female financial education.
I am looking to use the skills I have learnt in supporting charities that targey the areas I am passionate about. Female empowerment and supporting those in need.
I am interested in a Trustee role where I can use my financial, strategic decision making and communication skills to assist the charity in meeting its goals.
I am passionate about causes that promote female wellbeing and empowerment across the entire age spectrum and would welcome the opportunity to support a charity with this mission.
