About me

Semi-retired, and with a background in the technology and education sectors, I wish to offer the following transferable skills and experience to the charities sector on a part-time voluntary basis:

  • Project management
  • Quality assurance and improvement
  • Research and development

Locally as a volunteer, I am a management Committee member for the National Trust 'Friends of Osterley Park' (FoOP) with editorial and development responsibility for the FoOP Website, for local community, resident association and Council links, and recruitment to the FoOP Management Committee.

I have traveled extensively over many years in SE Asia and elsewhere as a backpacker, and have a particular interest in supporting developing countries, particular in the area of education. As an education consultant I have provided quality assurance advice to UNESCO, OECD and to educational agencies such as Nord Anglia, Cambridge Education, Tribal, and CfBT. As a volunteer, I work as a researcher and bid writer for 'See Beyond Borders', an Australian education charity supporting school development in Cambodia.

Summary:

Sector: Education

Time allocation: Two half-days per week or equivalent

Location: West London, but occasionally UK and overseas

What am I looking for

As a semi-retired professional, I am now in a position to offer two half-days per week, or its equivalent, on a flexible basis, within the UK, preferably within the West London area.

My preferred area of work would be within the education sector, an area where most of my professional life has been centred, and in national heritage to further the contribution it can make to the education of young people, to the enrichment of the lives of UK citizens and to a wider understanding of the UK's history and ongoing role internationally.
