About me

At the end of 2015 I retired as a partner in an international management consultancy, although the organisation has asked me to remain as one of their Special Advisers helping it with some of their more difficult undertakings.

My experience gained working within this organisation and also large programme and project management businesses covers the following:

  • Delivering large scale transformational change within organisations
  • Development and execution of business strategy, which has included a successful managament buyout
  • Leadership and business management of small to medium sized enterprise and larger organisations
  • Excercising commercial leadership, including during negotiation
  • An understanding of public procurement
  • Large scale programme and projects management, gained on programmes and projects possessing budgets of in excess of £1B+ each
  • Corporate and programme governance, including the experience of excercising the fiduciary duties of a company direcor
  • Coaching and mentoring - I am currently engaged to coach some of the goverment's most senior programme and project managers on behalf of the cabinet office
  • Training senior staff, for example I deliver our Commercial Leadership course at Partner and Director level, alongside our Group Legal Officer, along with other courses targetted at senior staff
  • Senior networking at board level, inside government and industry

I have shown those areas that I beleive that I can transfer skills in, in a bold typeface.

Whilst my experience of the volutary sector is limited, I would like to give something back that would benefit those less fortunate than myself and to commit to doing so.

What am I looking for

I would like a role in which I can make a difference to the well-being of those local to the area that I live in.

I think that I could this best in a role that can make best use of my:

  • Business focused skills, including business strategy and its implementation through transformational change
  • Commercial and financial experience and skills (noting I'm not an accountant)
  • Supporting the delivery of new undertakings
  • Tranferable skills and my experience of coaching and training others.

I am open minded about the voluntary sector within which I do this.
