I have 20 years' of experience as a solicitor both in private practice and in-house covering a wide range of areas, including acting as company secretary.
I am passionate about improving the lives of disadvantaged and vulnerable adults and children, in particular, ensuring that their voices are heard. I am a public governor at my local mental health and learning disabilities NHS Trust, in which my role is to represent the members of the Trust, including service users and carers.
I have lived experience of being a carer for a young person with asd and significant mental health difficulties during which time I have developed an extensive knowledge of mental health and disability services in the UK.
I am interested in causes relating to mental health, social care, young people and advocacy.
I can offer the following skills: legal, company secretarial, advocacy, drafting and one to one support in challenging situations, such as attending court or tribunals.
