I work four days a week, with Thursdays as my day off.
I’m a key part of a large, highly motivated Civil Billing Team who believe in supporting one another and currently have one of the highest engagement scores in the MOJ. At the core of my job is paying solicitor bills from public money. This requires strong analytical skills, and having the knowledge and confidence to be able to make difficult decisions which I can justify.
Outside of my job, I spent two years as a Labour CLP Secretary with responsibility to 1,000 members in the Wallasey constituency. This was a multifaceted role in which I sought to come up with campaigning initiatives, strengthen links with community organisations, and improve engagement through member newsletters and emails.
As a volunteer for Diversity Role Models for the last year, I’ve been taking part in LGBT+ workshops in High Schools around the region. I’ll shortly be starting as a Navajo volunteer, helping to assess local organisations who’ve applied for Navajo’s equality charter mark.
On an occasional basis I organise and co-present online transphobia awareness workshops which I designed from scratch.
As I approach retirement, I'm looking for more opportunities to put my experience and judgement to good use.
I'm looking for roles in which I can add value, eg ones that involve development of training programmes, social media campaigning, script writing, or strategic thinking.
