I have a broad range of experience working across Adult Social Care including Safeguarding work, strategic equalities work and integrated mental health services; both acute and recovery services.
The roles I have held thought my career to date have been varied, resulting in me having acquired a wide range of skills that I feel would be of use to the voluntary sector. I have experience of community engagement, mental health and social care crisis management, risk management, strategic practice and knowledge of key pieces of relevant legislation such as the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Care Act 2014.
As Safeguarding Advisor, I have also further developed these skills by creating and delivering training within a variety of settings as well as becoming a Social Work Practice Educator and supporting the learning of training Social Workers.
Worker and reducing the fear and stigma of this area in newly qualified staff; something I remain passionate about.
I am extremely proud of the work I’ve completed throughout my career, and particularly in my most recent role. I'm looking for a new challenge, and I would like to start exploring voluntary opportunities that I would be able to complete alongside paid employment. I feel that this would be of great benefit to the organisations I volunteer for, as well as a fantastic personal and professional development opportunity for me and one I am very excited to explore further.
Providing Safeguarding advice and support to voluntary sector. I am particularly passionate about supporting organisations that address mental health needs, or equality and diversity issues as I believe this is where my skillset is strongest.
