Due to the nature of my role, I can be flexible on hours. I am available Monday and Tuesday evenings and all day Saturdays.
I have over 10 years experience in the third sector, from front line delivery to senior leadership. I have spent 6 years working in Students' Unions and Universities as project leads, as well as sitting on the Board of Governors for the University of Worcester. I also chaired the Trustee Board of Worcester Students' Union. During this time I led on successfully gaining over £170,000 to run a two year student environmental project in two cities. I also oversaw the development of a new strategic plan and subsequent increase in membership engagement in services and volunteering.
I have also been involved of several staff committees in various organisations including environmental and ethical committees, equality and diversity committees, and strategic planning working groups.
I am currently Youth Project Manager at a community development charity in East Birmingham. We operate for the benefit of local residents and run a range of programmes from Early Years, Youth projects through to an over 50's programme and community environmental centre. I lead on programme development, charitable operations and grant bidding, as well as heading up our youth programme. As an organisation operating in one of the 10% most deprived wards in the country, our youth programme focuses on the challenges this presents such as traditional youth work offering, health and wellbeing programmes, youth volunteering, as well as targeted programmes around fighting holiday hunger, reducing social isolation and encouraging a sense of belonging in the community.
I am also undertaking a part-time MA in Youth and Community Development.
I'm currently looking for new opportunities to lend my experience and skills to an organisation.
I'm very open minded as to what role or type of charity to work with. I'm just keen on supporting where I can whilst developing my own experiences.
